Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival day
Upon arrival at around 1pm, we will head east to Arher area where we will explore the giant sand dunes, fresh water wells, and beaches of Arabian sea
Snacks, dinner and breakfast will be provided.

Day 2: HOQ cave
We will need to get up early around 5:00 am, breakfast will be served then we will head to Ras Arsel (the ending point of east Socotra) it’s about 15 mins drive from the camping ground, there you’ll be able to see the meeting-point of the Arabian sea and the Indian ocean. After a quick visit to see Ras Arsel, we will drive for 30 mins to get to Rosh village where we will start the hiking journey to Hoq cave
Hoq cave is the biggest cave in the middle east, it’s about 2 km deep. Depending on your fitness level, it can take 2.5 hours to reach the main gate of the cave which is on top of the mountain, and about 30 mins to reach the end of the cave. The entire journey will take 6 to 7 hours. Those who cannot do the cave, they can chill on the beach.

Day 3: The Natural pool
After breakfast, pack your bags, put your swimming wear on and hiking shoe because we will head to the protected area of Homhill which is home to an endless number of the Socotri endemic plants such as Dragon’s blood tree, Frankincense and Desert rose trees etc. It’s about 1 hour drive from Arher and 30 mins of walk along a selection of trails, on one of which takes us to a viewpoint where there is a natural swimming pool and a view of villages below on the plain and of the Arabian Sea.
After Homhil, we will head to another exciting area called Dihammri protected area where you can snorkel and dive in the marine protected area which is home to dozens of species of colorful marine life and it is one of the richest coral reefs on the archipelago

Day 4: Dragon’s blood trees
we will make our way to Dicksam plateau (approx. 700 m above sea level) and Shebahon’s viewpoint. This area is a home to an endless number of the Socotri endemic plants such as Dragon’s Blood Tree and other trees as well the Shebahon viewpoint gives a marvelous vista overlooking Daerhu canyon where we will see breathtaking sceneries and unusual yet beautiful rock formations.
• We will then make our way down to the Dirhur wadi in the canyon for lunch and an easy-going walk to swim in the freshwater pools, then we continue our way up to Firmhen point so you can explore the largest forest of the dragon blood trees

Day5: Ayaft valley
Morning breakfast before we head to explore Ayaft valley and then we move to the airport to say goodbye for this beautiful island

WHAT TO BRING
- Its cold out there ! bring warm clothes as the weather will be chilly at night
- Hiking gear (shoes, pants, thermal layers, gloves, cap, scarf, jacket, sun glasses, etc)
- Snack or protein bars if you prefer some, you will feel hungry during the hike

Useful information
- The average temperature for Socotra thia time is between 10 and 20 degrees Celsius but with probability of.
- always have your waterproof jacket with you
- There is no net coverage in most of the island areas except for etisalat telecom (get your sim card from Abudhabi airport before departure)
- If you are allergic to any kind of food, kindly let us know in advance so we can take that into consideration
- The only meeting and departure point to Socotra is from Abudhabi airport, tickets have to be booked 2 months in advance to secure your spot and price is fixed (approx. AED3000)
- No visa required for GCC citizens, visa fees of $100 is upon arrival for other nationalities
